Trama:
Giovanni, psicanalista di Ancona, è convocato dal preside della scuola di suo figlio Andrea, accusato di aver rubato un fossile. A casa l'uomo discute con la moglie Paola sulla responsabilità del figlio, che nega il furto e ricuce in anticipo lo strappo coi genitori. Qualche tempo dopo Andrea muore durante un'immersione e la vita di Giovanni, Paola e della secondogenita Irene va in frantumi.
