L'eliminatore - Eraser segue le vicende di John Kruger, un eccezionale e algido US Marshal che lavora per il programma di protezione testimoni (WITSEC), specializzato nel "cancellare" le identità dei soggetti a rischio simulando la loro morte. La sua missione più pericolosa ha inizio quando gli viene affidata la tutela di Lee Cullen, una dirigente della Cyrez Corporation (una potente azienda appaltatrice della difesa) che ha sottratto un prezioso file per denunciare la vendita illegale al mercato nero di una devastante arma top-secret: un fucile a impulsi elettromagnetici. Ben presto Kruger scopre l'esistenza di una fitta rete di corruzione e di una spietata talpa ai vertici della sua stessa organizzazione, guidata dal suo mentore Robert DeGuerin. Braccato dai suoi stessi colleghi e da trafficanti d'armi internazionali, l'agente dovrà sfruttare tutto il suo letale addestramento in una sequenza incessante di sparatorie, spettacolari fughe aeree e duelli all'ultimo sangue per proteggere la donna, ripulire il proprio nome e distruggere l'arsenale clandestino prima che venga contrabbandato.
